What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is an activity that holds and keeps the interest of a person or audience. It is an ancient activity, with a history that stretches back thousands of years and can be adapted to suit any scale from individual choice from an enormous array of pre-recorded entertainment products, to a meal or banquet accompanied by music, to performances for a large audience or global audiences via the internet. For example, Scheherazade – one of the famous professional storytelling traditions – has inspired multiple retellings in different media such as music by Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel, films by Pasolini and innovative video games.
